ii. Philosophy of Education

Philosophy of Education

I believe that children are capable.

                                         Education should be child-centered.

I believe that learning should be experiential.

Education should be learning for the whole child.

Education should include all children, regardless of differences.

I believe that learning must be adapted to

fit the needs of all learners.

I believe that for learning to occur, children must feel safe and wanted.

An educator’s role is not to dictate what must be learned,

but rather to guide and assist in the process of learning.

I strive to be a reflective practitioner and to be continually

modifying my teaching approach to better suit the needs of all learners.

I strive to be conscientious of what I say and how I say it,

to maintain a positive community of learners.

I strive to be an anti-oppressive educator.
